 Poached Eggs

Directions for the Microwave: Fill a bowl or mug with 1/2 cup water and slip in the egg, making sure it’s submerged. Lightly prick the center of the yolk with the tip of a knife. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on high 1 minute.

What Really Happened: Perfect microwave poached eggs! The whites didn’t fully wrap themselves around the yolk like they would have in a pot using the whirlpool method, but the yolk was still runny and the whites perfectly cooked.

What Our Tasters Said: Testers couldn’t guess which was egg was poached in the microwave at a first glance. After tasting, they agreed that the flavor was the same, but the texture of the microwave-poached eggs was actually BETTER.
