Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in well.
In a small bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture in three parts. Stir in caramel, chocolate chips coconut, and pecans. Scoop by tablespoonfuls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
