Southern Cornbread



  • 2 cups self rising buttermilk cornmeal mix
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1⅓ cup milk
  • ¼ cup canola oil
  1. Preheat the oven to 400.
  2. Sift the cornmeal mix, sugar, and salt together. Add in the egg, milk, and oil. Mix the ingredients well.
  3. Spray a loaf pan with nonsticking spray. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan. Bake for 30- 35 minutes.
  4. Enjoy with butter, honey or topping of your choice.
