Homemade Rolls, Hamburger Buns & Loaf bread from one easy Yeast Bread Recipe!

“If you don’t have a bread machine, this is the easiest yeast dough recipe by far. There is no overbearing yeast flavour and it is a good dense bread. Please note: time to make includes rising time.” I LOVE THIS BREAD! My family does too! I make it every weekend for the week ahead!

Prep Time: 40 mins Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Yield: 2 loaves or 24 dinner rolls or 12 to 16 hamburger sized rolls

5 cups all purpose flour
2 or 3 tablespoons yeast ( or 2 x 7g pkts) (use 3 tbsp if you like yeastier bread)
2 or 3 tablespoons sugar (must match amount of yeast)
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups warm/hot water
1/4 cup cooking oil or Olive Oil

1. Put 4 cups of the flour, yeast, sugar and salt into large bowl.
2. Pour in hot water and oil and mix until combined, it will be sticky.
3. Add the remaining flour in increments until dough is no longer sticky.
4. Knead for about 5 minutes until dough is elastic and smooth.
5. Place dough back into bowl and cover with a damp tea towel and let it rise until double its size about 1/2 hour.
6. Punch it down and divide dough into two pieces or 24 little balls.
7. Roll pieces long enough to fill two well oiled loaf pans or form into buns and place on cookie sheet and then leave to rise until dough has reached the rim of the pan or double in size.
8. Bake at 400F for 40 minutes for two loafs, and 18-20 minutes for rolls depending on their size, small slider rolls or larger hamburger buns.
9. Cover hot breads with wet tea towel to ‘sweat’ to soften the crust.
