Honey-Glazed Almonds

Honey-Glazed Almonds, with optional variation; Pecans, Walnuts or Mixed nuts

Spiced nuts are usually baked, roasted for a super tasty, smell good and nutritious snack! The smoky-spicy snack will store well in an airtight container for several days, if you don’t eat them the first hour you make them.

Yield: Serves 6 (serving size: about 24 almonds)

Ingredients, Always Organic

  • 1 3/4 cups raw, unblanched organic almonds
  • 1 tablespoon organic raw cane sugar, granulated
  • 1/2 tablespoon organic light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons organic honey or more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground organic chipotle chile powder, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon organic ground cumin, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • OPTIONAL VARIATIONS use instead of almonds
  • 1 3/4 cups raw, unblanched organic pecans
  • 1 3/4 cups raw, unblanched organic walnuts
  • 1 3/4 cups raw, unblanched organic mixed nuts

Directions

1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Add honey mixture to nuts, and blend, stirring constantly. Combine ingredients all together.

3.  Arrange nut mixture on prepared baking sheet in a single layer; Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or longer depending on browness.. Let stand 10 minutes. Break apart any clusters.

Directions

1. Prepare large baking sheet with butter. Place in preheated 350 degree oven to melt the butter, about 5 minutes.

2. Take pan out and spread the pecans out on pan. Try to make the pecans lay in a single layer, not clumped on top of each other. Sprinkle with salt all over.

3. Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes at 350. Remove from oven and place on parchment paper on a wire rack and let cool for at least 15 minutes. Eat up or store in air tight container once completely cooled.
